On Friday, October 24, 2008, the newest member of the Classic Cinemas family, North Riverside Mall Theatre, opened. The theatre is located in the North Riverside Park Mall in the western suburban, North Riverside. The theatre is on the upper level by the food court and operates 6 screens.
Among the improvements added by Classic Cinemas are a new concessions stand, new carpet, paint, all digital sound in auditoriums, new box office, restroom remodel, and much more. With the addition of the North Riverside Mall Theatre, Classic Cinemas now operates 13 theatres with 97 screens in suburban Chicagoland and the Northern Illinois area.
The Classic Cinemas newest location was celebrated on December 12th, 2008 with the tearing of the “Big Ticket”. The tearing of the “Big Ticket” was done by North Riverside Mayor Richard Scheck, the Johnson Family and guests.
